John Whitlock
Chairman
Mr. Whitlock is the Chairman and CEO of the Whitlock Group (Richmond, VA) and has been an enormously successful entrepreneur. He has won many awards including E&Y Virigina Entrepreneur of the Year, Finalist for E&Y Washington, DC Area Entrepreneur of the Year (twice) and Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500 list (5 occurrences).
Michael McGowan
CEO
Mr. McGowan joined the Company in 2005. He was a Vice President at AOL and AOL Time Warner from 1996 to 2004. At AOL, he was involved in senior strategic and operating roles, and he was responsible for some of AOL’s most strategic transactions including Time Warner, Netscape, MovieFone, MapQuest and ICQ. He also led business development efforts for the Messaging and Wireless groups and was responsible for partnerships with several major wireless carriers, including Verizon, Cingular and T-Mobile. Mr. McGowan graduated from Harvard College cum laude and Georgetown Law School magna cum laude where he was an editor of the law review.
Brian Cunningham
Founder
Mr. Cunningham is the inventor of the Message Level methodology and the author of Message Level’s patents. Previously, he was a Director of New Product Development for Providian Financial and a Lead Architect for Scient Corporation. Brian received his Masters in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
Bill McInnis
Business Development
Mr. McInnis has been with Message Level since inception. He is leading Message Level’s efforts in direct sales to high volume/brand conscious emails senders as well as Message Level’s partnerships with complimentary software companies and internet service providers. Prior to Message Level, Mr. McInnis led Business Development with Respond.com. He joined Respond.com in 2002 and helped to revamp the company’s business model leading up to and following its successful acquisition by TEOCO Corporation. Prior to Respond.com, Mr. McInnis spent over 5 years within the Financial Services sector and holds a B.B.A in Finance from Radford University.

Dr. Dan Geer

Dr. Geer is the former CTO of @Stake, currently the Chief Scientist of Verdasys, a data security company and founded the very first information security consulting form on Wall Street, Geer Zolot & Associates. He is one of the leading pioneers in the application of financial and epidemiological disciplines to information risk management. Dr. Geer was project leader at MIT’s Project Athena, a research program that informed many of today’s seminal networking concepts, and a former president of USENIX.
John Quarterman
Advisory Board
Mr. Quarterman is CEO of InternetPerils, a company developing tools for visualizing and quantifying network risk. He is credited with creating the discipline of measuring internetwork performance, an art he began when working on ARPANET, the origin of the Internet. He has written extensively on global Internet performance and was twice elected to the board of USENIX.
